The Dolomites classic: the “Cima Grande”. An absolute must for every mountain lover and in the 3rd degree of difficulty to be mastered above all in the company of an experienced mountain guide. Starting point is the Auronzo Hut (toll road from Lake Misurina). The access in the gorge between “Cima Piccola” and “Cima Grande” is easy to find: after a short walk in the direction of the chapel, the path climbs up a narrow path to the entrance at a prominent ramp.

Duration of walk/climb: ¾ hour to the summit attack point, 3 hours to the top and 3 hours to return to the start.
Best time of year: Mid June to beginning of October
Material/Equipment: A 60m rope, some lanyards, a set of friends, 5-6 quick draws and 4 screw-gate locking carabiners

The demands of a climb are manageable for active hikers and climbers accompanied by a mountain guide. Three hours to the top and as many down again. Provided the right paths are being followed, the climb does not go beyond the third level of difficulty. Starting from the Hut Auronzohütte (on the toll road from lake Misurinasee). Climb start: From the hut Auronzo towards the hut Lavaredo to the chapel and then into the gorge between the Kleine and the Grosse Zinne. The summit attack starts at the beginning of a notable ramp. Duration of walk/climb: ¾ hour to the summit attack point, 3 hours to the top and 3 hours to return to the start.
