This race is unique. At the Wings for Life World Run, everyone starts at the same time, worldwide. Professional athletes, fun runners and total beginners are all in it together against the Catcher Car. The moving finish line, the Catcher Car begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start, passing runners and wheelchair users one after the other until the race is over. The best bit? 100% of all entry fees and donations goes directly to spinal cord research to find a cure for spinal cord injury. In 1942, 11-year-old Ludi's family emigrates to Nazi Germany as part of the Option Agreement. Along with Ludi is his younger brother Hanno, who has both physical and mental disabilities. Upon arrival in Innsbruck, Hanno is placed in a care facility. The family continues on to Sonnau in the Reichsgau Upper Danube region. The father is drafted into the Wehrmacht, and the mother longs for their homeland. Ludi makes a new friend, Siegfried, with whom he can talk about things no one else dares to mention. One day, the family receives a letter informing them that Hanno has died of pneumonia. From then on, Hanno appears to Ludi in daydreams, becoming his companion in a time of deep uprooting. Sepp Mall is one of South Tyrol’s most renowned contemporary authors. His novel A Dog Came Into the Kitchen was longlisted for the 2023 German Book Prize. Told from a child’s perspective, Mall explores historical events of war and National Socialism, focusing on themes of homeland, parting, and the search for something new. Director Peter Lorenz brings the story to the stage with sensitivity, blending text, music, and dance. South Tyrolean musician Maria Moling will perform live on stage, together with sound designer Martin Hofstetter, transforming Mall’s language into a captivating sound world. Forty years after the death of two great figures of world culture, Italo Calvino and Marc Chagall, the Italian Association of Artists of Trento | Bolzano FIDA and the ASSB - Associazione Scrittrici e Scrittori di Bolzano are commemorating the two outstanding artists with an event at the Bolzano City Gallery. The wide-ranging cultural event will showcase works by twenty-nine artists from the Trentino-Alto Adige region as well as writings by the thirteen writers who are members of the ASSB Bolzano. These are free and personal interpretations and inspirations, a tribute to the two unforgotten personalities who are of immeasurable importance in art and literature. The artists and writers explore their significant legacy in order to create a moment of wonder in today's culture - a reflection of a past that is still alive. ‘The Emotions of Artists’ is the title of this ambitious project, which revolves around the deep emotionality masterfully concealed in the paintings and writings of the two great authors. As in the light, fleeting poetry that is always palpable in their imaginative works.

n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

The special exhibition “Die Hutterer. A Search for Traces in Klausen” is accompanied by the collaborative UNIKA exhibition under the Ladin title “PESC” (meaning PEACE) – an ideal that connects both exhibitions at the Civic Museum Klausen. They are part of the initiatives for the Euregio Museums Year 2025 “weiter sehen,” which, in memory of the Peasants’ War of 1525, addresses contemporary themes. The Hutterites A Search for Traces in Klausen The nearly 500-year history of the Hutterites, who were expelled from Tyrol in the 16th century, is that of a minority that was marginalized and persecuted due to their religious beliefs and communal organization. However, their story is also one of plurality and openness to foreign ideas. The teachings of the Anabaptists found great support in Tyrol, including in Klausen. One of the most significant preachers and religious leaders of the Hutterites, Peter Walpot, was a native of Klausen. At the same time, the Hutterites were subjected to relentless persecution, as evidenced by well-documented cases from Klausen. Jakob Huter, born near St. Lorenzen, took on the leadership of the Anabaptists in Tyrol at an early stage and organized their communal life. In the 16th century, the Anabaptists moved to tolerant Moravia, marking a period of prosperity. From the 17th century onward, they were forced to migrate further until they eventually reached North America. Here, despite facing some crises, they managed to preserve their faith and a well-functioning community to this day. Acquired over the past decade, these videos are being showcased at Museion for the first time, exploring memory through the medium’s experimental techniques, such as loops, overlays, and flickering. As video art remains a vital part of contemporary museums, Museion has actively expanded its collection, embracing this dynamic medium to uncover new meanings through the layering of visual and narrative languages. Currently, the museum holds 167 video works, including 28 installations and 139 single-channel films, which form a crucial part of its 4,450-piece collection. This focus dates back to a pivotal moment in 2007-2008 when Museion acquired 52 video works through the Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI) in New York. Since then, video art has remained a key area of growth, serving as a bridge between historical narratives, experimental storytelling, technological innovation, and an intergenerational artistic language. At the heart of this exhibition is an exploration of time and the ghostly presence of the past. The selected videos delve into themes of remembrance and transformation, using archival footage, found materials, and visual distortions to challenge conventional storytelling. Like archaeologists unearthing forgotten histories, the featured artists employ montage, appropriation, and layering to craft narratives that challenge the linearity of time. These latest additions to the Museion collection not only strengthen its role as a contemporary art institution but also hold particular value for the local region. By continuously expanding its video archive, Museion ensures that South Tyrol remains a hub for contemporary artistic discourse, fostering connections between global narratives and local cultural heritage. The exhibition, therefore, serves as a dynamic platform for engaging with the past while reinterpreting it through modern artistic lens.
