Wonderful high-altitude hike across the wide alpine pastures of the Villanderer Alps. No mountain experience necessary. From Villanders take the car or the hiking bus to the car park of the Gasser Hut. From here take the Güterweg Nr. 6 to the Toten, continue left to the Totensee lake and up a somewhat steep mountain path to the plateau and on to the summit of the Villanderer Peak mountain. Towards the southwest you reach the summit cross of the Sarner Scharte. Past the small weather protection hut to the east on trail no. 3 down to the alpine huts and the Gasteiger Sattel. Now return to the Gasser Hut on a good goods path.

• Gasser Hut – Toten: 1.5 hours
• Villanderer Peak: 1.5 hours
• There and back: approx. 5 hours

Alternative: Ascent in the opposite direction.
