Passing between two manned shelters and the picturesque Seeber See lake beneath the glacier, this hike does not require any special precautions.

Starting point: Seeber parking lot

Endpoint: Seeber parking lot

Refreshment stop: Seeber Alm pasture, Oberglaneggalm pasture

Details

From the Seeber parking lot, follow the small road a short way down before starting the ascent along the last section (20a) to the Seeber Alm pasture. The Seeber parking lot can be reached by turning left at km 22, just before the first bend on the Timmelsjoch mountain pass road and then continuing 500 m downhill along on the little road over the meadow.

From the Seeber Alm pasture follow the trail further into the valley as it opens out into a wide basin without crossing the stream. After a flat, swampy stretch pass the hill at the center of the valley and ascend up the winding track to the right to reach the Seeber See lake. Around the lake are numerous beauty spots where one can stop and relax. To go around the lake, a wide detour is necessary to avoid the swamp passing between the hill and the south-facing mountain slope (first 44, then 43).

Leaving the valley behind from the upper shore of the lake, follow the moderately steep slope on the left of the mountain, then through wide pastures on flat ground before reaching the Kopfhügel hill on trail no. 43a.

From Kopfhügel hill, cross over a few streams to get to the Oberglaneggalm pasture on trail no. 43a.

From there, follow the narrow road to the Timmelsjoch mountain pass taking a sharp right turn down the path along the steep slope to the street below and to the Seeber  parking lot on trail no. 20.
