The snowshoe walk to the Haniger Schwaige hut takes you below the imposing face of the Rosengarten massif and under the Vajolettürme, giving you a truly unique experience of the countryside. Given that the trail leads over steep mountain meadows, you must take heed of weather conditions and avalanche warnings.

Details

The walk begins in St. Zyprian along trail no. 1 to the Niger Pass. Cross the road and follow the toboggan route until you get to the Baumannschwaige hut. Then make your way up the steep trail to Tumlwiesen and Angelwiesen meadows. Passing the Haniger mountain hut, the trail leads down to the Plafötsch hut and over the Traunwiesen meadows back to the set-off point.
