Our route description through the Valli di Tures Aurina – Tauferer Ahrntal valley begins in Brunico – Bruneck and takes you to Campo Tures-Sand in Taufers. An ideal starting point for the bikeroute is the bus station in Brunico – Bruneck. There are plenty of car parking spaces available there. From this spot you follow the signs on the main road leading towards Valle Aurina – Ahrntal/Campo Tures – Sand in Taufers. The biking path starts just outside of the center and it runs parallel to the main road taking you to the residential area of S. Giorgio – St. Georgen. After a short ascent on the paved road on the right side of the river and through the fields, you will reach the village of Gais. Passing the children’s playground in the center, the bike route passes by the craftsmen’s zone and then through fields and meadows into the village of Villa Ottone – Uttenheim. From there you take the paved road through the fields to Caminata – Kematen. From Caminata – Kematen there are various possibilities to reach Campo Tures – Sand in Taufers. The best way is on the right side of the river towards Cantuccio – Bad Winkl and the hamlet of Winkl heading towards S. Maurizio – St. Moritzen. On the right mountain-side at the end of the village, you will see the Castle Taufers (up to this point you can use trekking or city-bikes).
