The trail around Mount Sas de Putia leads through a diverse and magnificent landscape. Rugged rock, vast meadows. A flora rich in species and colours. Inside puddles you can find Alpine newts, in areas with mountain pines you can find chamois and marmots hide between rocks. The canyon of stream Moibach gives an insight into the layers of the era before the Dolomites formed.

Details

Start time: 9:30 a.m. – Return: 17:00 p.m. – Meeting point: Würzjoch pass. Route: From car park Würzjoch pass (2000 m) across the meadow Kompatschwiesen meadows to the western side of Mount Sas de Putia. Hike into the Peitlerscharte (2357 m). After a short and steep ascent, across the meadow Peitlerwiesen meadows to the ridge Gömajoch (2111 m). Continue across the forests, mountain pines and meadows to the Kompatschwiese at the north of Sas de Putia and back to the car park.

Approach

Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa; turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to St. Peter. Continue from there on the road to Würzjoch pass.
