Details

First take the chairlift to Vellau (906m) and then take the gondola basket lift, the so-called nostalgia lift, on to the Leiter Alm mountain pasture (1,450m) on the Merano High Mountain Trail. This allows you to enjoy the view in a relaxed way and reach the High Mountain Trail easily and comfortably. Now walk along the Merano High Mountain Trail – Hans Frieden Trail No. 24 to the Gasthaus Hochmut.

Approach

Via the Adige Valley, take the MeBo expressway to the Algund exit. Coming from Vinschgau, Algund is just before Merano.
