The roadway to the Taser has always been a classic for mountain bikers. After the construction of the forest road, which begins at the Taser, it is now possible to reach the extremely scenic mountain basin directly below the steeply rising peaks of the Ifinger and the Scheiber, by mountain bike.

Details

From the parking lot, head briefly back toward Merano to the first intersection, at which point it is necessary to turn left (signposted Taser). Proceed approximately 50 meters steeply uphill to the next road fork. Turn left toward Taser. This leads partly steeply up to the valley station of the cable car. Continue straight ahead over the narrow, tarred road. At the next junction in the road (left to Verdins), keep right. Following is a short, very steep section. Continue to a turn. Turn right on the the tarred road and carry on upwards. Further along is a left turn, and about 50 meters afterward, a right turn. Shortly after the hairpin turn, there is a parking space on the left side. Always follow the road, which then leads to a sharp left turn. Proceed left up to the large mountain meadows with the mountain station of the Taser cable car, the inn and the cottages. Follow the trail for a short distance, past the church (if pedestrian, please push the bike) to the house at the edge of the forest. The trail leads into a forest path. Follow this briefly up to the first fork. From that point, continue right until the next junction. Then, keep left and follow the forest road to Leiten-Alm.

Approach

Drive to Schenna. Carry on past the bottleneck and continue straight at the next fork in the road (signed Taser), then turn right to the parking lot at the fire department.
