Spring hike to the flower meadows

Experience a unique nature experience “The Crocus Flower”. Every year, between the beginning of March and the end of April, the meadows on the “Giogo di Meltina” are transformed into a sea of crocus flowers.

Let’s go! We start from the free parking lot Kircheben above Meltina: We follow the signs to the “Möltner Kaser” on hiking trail no. 15, past the water catch basin. After about 20 minutes we cross the road, and follow trail no. 15 A. Below the Sattlerhütte we turn right onto trail no. 17 and hike up to the Wetterkreuz. There we take a short break and enjoy a breathtaking mountain panorama as well as a sea of crocus blossoms as far as the eye can see. Afterwards, we continue hiking on trail no. 17A to the Lanzenschuster. There we can fortify ourselves with fresh dishes. Then we continue our way towards Fahrer Weiher. We turn right after the Unterfahrerhof onto trail no. 17 B and hike past the Fahrer Weiher. We leave the meadows and now enter the forest, there we change to hiking trail no. 1. over the so-called “Rindelwiesen”. We continue on hiking trail no. 9 to the Lingeralm, where we enjoy another homemade cake. Afterwards we follow the trail no. 18 back to the starting point parking lot Kircheben.

Total hiking time: approx. 3- 3 ½ hours

Approach
If you come by car from Brennero, take the motorway A22 until the exit “Bozen Süd”. Here you can take the highway MeBo in direction to Merano (SS38) until you reach the exit of Terlano. At Terlano begins the mountain road to Mölten. You can also take the MEBO exit of Vilpiano and take the cable car to Schlaneid / Mölten.
