Description
Following the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany in 1938, the Saalen-Montal bunker was hastly designed to form part of the Vallo Alpino Littorio system of fortifications. It was constructed between 1939 an 1941.

Approach

From West: Brenner Motorway A22 – exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria. Take road SS49 direction St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo (approx. 25 km).From East: Take the road from Lienz/Eastern Tyrol to St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo (approx. 75 km) – Montal/Manatana: approx. 4 km.
